SCHEDULE
The schedule will update every Wednesday and it DOES CHANGE week to
week, this allows us to rematch up teams based on how they are doing in
the league and move team to the correct division and league. Please
check the schedule page after 6pm every Wednesday during the season to
see what times are confirmed for the weekend.
NEW RULES There has been a few rule changes this season.
We are also putting into place a rule for player
injuries and concussions. In accordance with high school rules anytime
play is stopped for a injured player, that player must leave the player
floor for at least one possession. If a player is bleeding that player
must leave the game and they may not return until bleeding has stopped.
If the player has blood on their uniform they will not be allowed back
into the game. It is my suggestion that teams purchase a extra jersey
or two to have in case of this situation. Some sites will have extra
uniforms there so ask the staff at the site for an extra jersey.
If a game is stopped but to an apparent head injury
during play, they will be taken out of the game immediately and will not
be able to participate in youth sports activities until they have been
cleared by qualified medical personal. The YMCA will need a note
clearing the child for participation in YMCA Youth sports activities.
That player may NOT participate until I have given you the ok to allow
them to practice or play. Safety is our first priority here at the YMCA
and I don't want to put my coaches or staff in a position to make a
call about the child's well being. We will lave that to the experts and
make sure the child is safety to come back and have fun in our program. I
ask that all my coaches go to http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/online_training.html and
take their training on concussions. Please let me know when you have
taken it. It only takes about 20 minutes and it really helps coaches
deal with the possibility of concussions during the season.
